We're celebrating our Centenary

This year our 100th birthday was on Michaelmas, 29 September 2017.

Throughout the academic year 2017-18 we will be celebrating our Centenary and hope that you will be able to join us. It is an exciting time in the school’s history; a chance to bring the wider school community together and strengthen the school. You may be a parent, Old Girl, former parent or member of staff or a local resident.

Royal Patron
We are honoured and delighted that HRH Princess Alexandra has generously agreed to be Patron of our Centenary. Her patronage is particularly nostalgic as Her Royal Highness opened the newly built school hall in 1965.

Creating Legacies
In acknowledging the past we will be creating legacies for future generations to enjoy by fundraising activities throughout the year. Our Centenary Garden will provide much needed space and tranquility for pupils and the community alike and requires over £80,000 to complete it

We are also mindful of girls less fortunate than our own and will be supporting girls who have not had the same opportunities. The school charity chosen by pupils will be SACCA Rwanda that works to protect and rehabilitate children who have been living on the street as well as preventing them from reaching the streets in the first place

The Centenary will be acknowledged on a daily basis in school. We’ll be inviting 100 women to meet and inspire our girls and will be committing to 100 acts of kindness during Lent in 2018.

Your Support
There are many other events in the pipeline, which we will be posting here, and we would welcome your engagement and support. You may like to donate your time, expertise, or money to our causes; join in our celebrations or come and speak to our girls.

To discuss any of these opportunities please make contact:

centenary@ladymargaret.lbhf.sch.uk  We look forward to hearing from you.
